Astor Club is pleased to announce a new artist-in-residence program to launch in September 2024. The Astor Artist Residency is curated by Astor club patron member Caryn Capotosto, a documentary producer, independent curator and founder of creative agency Museum & Crane. Four artists will be selected annually as artists-in-residence to hang their work and present an artist talk for members during the run of the exhibition. The program will kick off on Thursday, September 5th with Chicago artist Melissa Leandro. Melissa’s stunning handwoven textile works on canvas will be installed in the Astor Club foyer with an opening reception to be held on September 5th at 7pm. Come celebrate Astor Club’s mission of celebrating the visual arts in Chicago with the artist and esteemed members of the Chicago art community. Melissa’s work is represented in Chicago by Andrew Rafacz Gallery. The 2025 roster of artists-in-residence is forthcoming!
